My Pentecost Weekend

As you can tell from the picture, a new member was added to our family. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have a name yet. He’s a really sweet guy, a bit lazy though. I literally had to drag him unto Yolanda’s lap to take this picture. He just likes to lie around all day and dream and not do that much. He is good-natured, because he always has that smile on his face. He only speaks German, because that’s where he was born. This weekend our German friend brought him over to us.
This German friend, Jaran, stayed with us over the weekend. On Saturday we went to Delft. We thought that would be a nice authentic Dutch city to show him. I had found out that there was a city-cache that would lead us all through the city, so we did that cache along the way. We almost stopped at the second assignment, because we couldn’t find the name that we needed, but at the last moment Martijn found it and so our quest continued. After we found all the clues, we went for dinner in an Italian restaurant. It was a nice restaurant; good food and not too expensive. Over there we calculated what the final coordinates should be and we went to see if they were correct. Sadly, on the way there, I got a steel pole on my head when they were taking down the market stalls. I was pretty shaken up by it and I still have a big bruise on my head as a reminder. But, despite that, we found the cache! I was so happy! It was a long multi-cache and Martijn and I kind of made a habit out of not finding those. But we did find this one! (It was probably because there was three of us now instead of two :)) So we left our Travelbug and Geocoin there (which we had for over a year – shame on us!), wrote down our names in the log and we went home.
Because the bump on my head was hurting me, I couldn’t sleep at all that night. Well, I slept like three or four hours, but that’s it. So I decided not to join Martijn and Jaran on Sunday. I just couldn’t bear the thought of having to walk out in the sunlight all day. So I stayed at home and played the Sims 2. I still love that game. Martijn and Jaran went to The Hague and Scheveningen. They didn’t do any geocaches; they just walked and played the tourist :). And by the way, on Saturday the three of us took 250 pictures together, each with our own camera. And on Sunday evening, Jaran went home again after dinner. I must say that I really enjoyed the weekend. We had never met each other in real life. Martijn knew Jaran from IRC, but they had never met before neither.
Today, Martijn and I didn’t do that much. We sat outside in the sun, Martijn did some laundry, he played Civ III and I played the Sims 2. I slept really well last night, and now I’m gonna see if I can do that again. Work tomorrow…

It was a great weekend indeed! I really enjoyed it :) You two have been great hosts and tourist guides! :-)
I hope I find some time on the weekend to make a nice gallery of the photos we shot.
